Ted Leo is on the same wavelength as Shecky. He covered this in his Sharkbite Sessions EP, and plays it live. Great cover.

The best release of the year so far is clearly Neil Young's Live at Massey Hall. Other than that, I've been enjoying new stuff from Arcade Fire, Ted Leo, Wilco, Low, and Lucinda Williams

I saw Elliott Smith five times in NYC (though one was a short set -- the record release performance at Virgin in Union Square for Figure 8) from 1998-2002.

I wish I'd seen him a few more times.

Re: "Sunset Pig" I alway figured she was saying she'd be so happy to be back in LA that she'd even kiss the hardass LAPD officers that patrol the Sunset Strip (where all the cool clubs were). Its a great line that shows her hippie sensibilities, if you ask me. It's like the kids that stuck...
