Goddammit, I still want that Stones CD.

And...nobody *ever* mentions "All Down the Line", despite D.Phillips posting multiple times in that thread. Although, I didn't mention "Torn and Frayed" either, so opinions have obviously changed in the last 3 years.

Also: Torn and Frayed My local tiny music club has a Stones cover night every Christmas Eve, which they call "Exile on Kettner" (the street the club is on). Why do they have it then? Because when there's a guitar playing, it's Christmas. Maybe I'll go find that old "best Stones songs not on 40 Licks...

When loading up my iPod nano, I had to be a bit selective as to what songs I put on there, because there's no way I could fit everything. I figured I could average 2-3 songs per album and put just about all the highlights of my collection on there. So, I ended up putting 11 songs from Exile in the i...

Yeah, I was looking at the release years of everything on my iTunes last night, and 1969 is pretty prominent. Otherwise, I think in my initial nomination of 1997, I was pretty much conflating the whole '96-'98 era. 1997 had some good stuff, but wasn't really any great shakes, and I'm actually inclin...

I finally joined the 21st Century and got an iPod myself, so I'm going through the same process as Creepy, but I only got a 4G Nano, so I actually have to cull the herd a bit before putting stuff in. After owning the thing for about a month, I just completed my first pass through the collection, onl...

What was the pop up for? We do not allow pop ups.
I don't know -- my pop-up blocker did its job on that one, but I was notified that there was an ad blocked. That computer may be a little iffy though, so I probably shouldn't judge by it.

Main page tried to feed me a pop-up earlier today, but hasn't tried again since. That didn't make me particularly happy.

I'm not going to go all out and pronounce it "best", but 1997 was pretty damn good for me.

The crack on the Hold Steady numbers might be that they've sold just about nothing despite music writers having giant bukkake parties over everything they release, thus being "out of touch". My perspective on that is notably biased since I don't see the appeal of the Hold Steady at all, as I've ment...
