Yeah, there's a big deal being made of them over on this side of the water. They're kinda the "Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!" of the UK. Their "hype" was generated by their playing relentlessly and giving their music away for free on the Internet. Heard the album once as well as their cannon of singles ...

this all would be fascinating if it turns out to be true. part of me hopes it is... it would be the greatest single piece of conceptual art released on the world and force everyone to step back and look at our celebrity obsessed culture. I second that sentiment Vitas. It would be great if it were t...

By Jove, she is freckly Murph! I'd say there's Sligo blood in there somewhere although might have been a feckless Leitrim rogue who stepped over the border and planted his fecund seed oblivious to the wheels of destiny he had set in motion. Never knew too much about LL until my inability to sleep on...

If you really want a nice sampling of reggae and its various precursors and subgenres, get you a copy of The Story of Jamaican Music . . I agree. Great collection. Particularly love Discs 1 and 2. That old school (well, Disc 1 anyone) stuff just knocks the socks off me. Is it just me or are the onl...

A wise purchase Maarten.

Got it a while before Christmas and have been playing the hell out of it since. Great music and reasonably priced for a 6-CD set. Picked it up brand new for about €34 or $29-ish.

Question?

I was in a music store before Christmas and they had an album on that was basically soul/funk versions of Beatles songs. Now i'm sure that on paper such a notion would repel me but it actually sounded shit-hot. I would have asked the guys behind the counter who was doing the covers but the line was ...
