That's true...there are plenty of good indie bands out there right now besides the more popular ones I mentioned, but I think my favorites seem a little less image conscious. Les Savy Fav, for example, has a singer with the bozo/balding hair style and a beer gut that puts mine to shame.

To me indie rock these days seems very superficial and fashion oriented. In the early 90's when indie was actually off the mainstream radar it was played by dorks like Archers of Loaf, Yo La Tengo (the heyday is over), and Seam. Now it's ultra fashion conscious hipsters like the Rapture and Interpol...

I got off my lazy butt and logged in. Liars just seem like another example of the good old hype machine. I'm getting really tired of it lately.
