Such venom! Are we kicking over our idols already? Sorry, I can't pass judgement on a whole album on the basis of 2 of which I actually think is very listenable (and one of which isn't). I gotta hear the whole thing before I consign Wilco to the dustbin of hstory and start crossing finge...

If I were going to get involved, I would much rather spend my energy getting the fuckers to stop fucking with the El and to figure out how to fix the fucking roads without stopping traffic for 5 years at a stretch. Seriously. Took me two fuckin' hours to get from Wicker Park to Rogers Park on the B...

I was hoping he'd wear his ass-less chaps...but I guess you can't get everything you hope for.

Still, he was pretty frickin' awesome.

It's also important to remember that the Smiths were around for 4 years, and the Cure has been around for 30 years now. Ah, yes...but is it better to burn out or fade away, Jake? I love a lot of Cure stuff, but they haven't really put out anything decent in quite a while. (And I saw them live aroun...

Well, I know most might disagree...but I always thought Joe Strummer was pretty great in Mystery Train. (I saw him in New York in 2001 at an in-store show, and Steve Buscemi came too, which I thought was pretty cool.) I kind of think maybe part of it is that Jim Jarmusch is particularly good at coax...

hey, we all have some musical skeletons in our closet... Umm, I probably shouldn't admit this, but...Barry Manillow, I owned 7 albums and saw him in concert...twice, by choice, at ages 5 and 8. (My first concerts ever, no wonder I'm fuckin' warped.) And I still have the videocassette of the TV movi...

I made one a fit of annoyance with one of my scratched P.I.L. albums. The cover made a nice decorative box, and the album itself now holds important receipts and my press pass. Bake at 200 or so for 5-10 min draped over a small metal container. Shape by placing in another bowl, with a secon...

I've been listening non-stop to "A Pillar of Salt" by the Thermals and to "Cheated Hearts" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for the past few days. They are burned into my psyche and the only thing that will purge them is listening to them, oh, a couple thousand times each.

Very excellent idea for a thread! Hmmm... 1. Holland, 1945 (Neutral Milk Hotel) (would have to be done in a banjo version) 2. Dixie Fired (Carl Perkins) 3. Dancing in the Dark (Springsteen, as covered by Ted Leo) 4. Atomic (Blondie) 5. Save It For Later (English Beat) 6. Letter to Memphis (The Pixie...
