Hey all, I'm trying to find a folk-punk sound in the general vein of the Minutemen and the Mekons (but more folk) and Uncle Tupelo (but more punk). If anyone has ANY idea of the sound I'm describing, or ANY idea of a band that might sound like this, I'd be utterly grateful. Thanks.

"Too Far To Care" by the Old 97's.
Rank and Files first album, if you can find it.
Truck Stop Love's "What I Did On My Summer Vacation" This one may be out of print as well.

In addition to those records, get Meat Puppets II. You'll dig the hell out of it.

some early recordings by dumptruck may fit the bill... also, along the same lines (but not particularly the same sound - little more on the folky side) the feelies might be a good band to look into as well.

Oh man, the Feelies - for awhile I was listening to It's Only Life at least once a day! Great band!

Also, for an good folk/punk sound, check out some Camper Van Beethoven.
