Joy Division "Closer"

I really love the Replacements, but I don't think they have a perfect album in them...and I don't think they really cared, which is what made them great.

Hmmm...there is no album that I consider 'perfect'. I'm a little impatient most of the time...and there's almost always a song that irks me enough on each listen to skip (or think about skipping, because I'm lazy.)

Albums that are consistent (ie. not necessarily momentous, classic, but keep the same sort of talent flow going through the whole thing) and that I feel like skipping tracks the least often are:
- Kid A - Radiohead (Fitter Happier kills OK Computer)
- YHF - Wilco
- Is This It? - the Strokes
- Truthfully, Truthfully - the Joel Plaskett Emergency
- the first Weezer album, that blue one

And those are all easy targets, I'm sure I said that on the last thread, but there!

For some reason, the first one to pop into my head is the Sunday's "Reading, Writing and Arithmetic"

Oh, and "Simpatico" by Velocity Girl.

I guess those are two of the less obscure. I agree with some of the other choices like "Nation of Millions", "Exile" (although I'd take "Beggars Banquet as more "perfect") The Bends" and "London Calling"

After Lover you Should Have Come Over Grace totally nose dives. I see that record as a good first attempt. I wish he had survived to make a flawless album, but Grace definitely has it's weak points.

Bad songs...

VU: The Black Angel's Death Song

I LOVE that song. It's insane and noisier than most of the others but still great.

Perfect Albums IMHO:
VU...and nico
Yo La Tengo...I can hear the heart...

...that's what comes to mind at the moment...

I know people will disagree with this, but I love every song on 'The Lonesome Crowded West' by Modest Mouse.
