That is a deceptively catchy tune, idn't it? One listen and it's stuck in my head for days.

Actually, these days I've been spinning New Pornographer's Mass Romantic pretty heavily. Glad I finally picked it up - I got Electric Version first and wore it out. I was actually reluctant to grab Mass Romantic for fear it would be something completely different, but it's as good or better than EV.

I got Mass Romantic first and it proved very theraputic at the time. Electric Version didn't measure up, but it's still a strong record. I haven't played AC Nelson's solo since I bought it -- it felt too watered down. I also haven't bought Destroyer, not even sure it's on my "list". I'm in a loud rawk mood.

i got the latest Trail of dead-cd. had read some very mixed reviews of it before. i like it, even if it's a bit too pompous at times.
going to see them perform tomorrow, very curious about that!

I felt the same way at first. Then, after I saw him open for Wilco in Vancouver, I gave it another chance and it really grew on me.

I will corroborate this corroboration on AC Newman. The first two tracks I wanted to play over and over. The rest took a while for me to warm to its peculiar feel. There's still one track I skip right over, and there's a couple with a great idea that repeats maybe a bit too long, but all of them are at least good, and the majority are brilliant: Miracle Drug, Drink to Me Babe, Come Crash, Cloud Prayer (what a cool song), Town Halo, 35 in the Shade. Just a master of melody and harmony. It's really enough to make you hate the guy.

I just got a copy the Arcade Fire...and I know I'm like the umpteenth person to say it but upon listening to it I instantly wanted to hump their legs/marry them/have their babies/actually buy their CD. It rules. A LOT.

yeah, their live show is rad. i appreciate a band that can put solos into indie rock. who's opening for them?
