Great - now I'm hearing Husker Du performing 'Sugar Sugar' in my brain.

For anyone who has young kids - our daughter turns 2 this Friday - you may know The Wiggles. Every time we go anywhere in the car she calls out for the Wiggles, and then their music is stuck in my head for days afterwards. Drives me freaking insane.

But with song titles such as:

Wiggly Party
Hoop-Dee-Doo
Fruit Salad (Yummy Yummy)
Toot Toot Chugga Chugga (Big Red Car)
Dance The Ooby Doo (With Dorothy the Dinosaur)
Play Your Guitar With Murray

what's not to like?

All I know is that it beats Barney ANY day!

Ha ha. I'm glad I read every reply, because I was coming on here to post about the Wiggles.

I hear you on the "Fruit Salad" and raise you a "Do the Monkey" and "Crunchy Munchy Honey Cakes"

It's gotten so bad that I've driven around wwith the CD playing in the car, singing along...then I realize the pup isn't even in the car and I'm free to listen to...I donno, Eminem or Slayer or something.

I'll see your Archies and raise you a Fruitgum:

Yummy yummy yummy, I got love in my tummy...

Meanwhile, I have my immunity hat on to protect me from such insurgence, since Radiohead's Palo Alto is still reverberating around my head after reading the B-Sides thread. Heh.

Archies = Fruitgum :)

I would LOVE to have Husker Du cover "Sugar Sugar". Almost as good as the real cover of "Love is All Around".

Today my brain is circulating Nick Cave's "Rock of Gilbraltar". It can leave now.

Didn't the Talking Heads used to cover the 1910 Fruitgum Company's "1, 2, 3, Redlight"? I've never heard that version (for the "outakes" thread: is there a recording of this floating around or on disk?), but I love the original (not much of a "Yummy, Yummy" fan).
