What, this old thread?

Listening to a lot of Greenskeepers lately - gotta keep my energy up.

Beyond that I've been shuffling my collection a lot and just listening to random stuff. Haven't gotten anything new in a while.

I've been rocking the psych and metal lately. Metallica, Mastodon, Sabbath, The Sword, Fu Manchu, The Move, The Smoke, The Gris Gris, etc...
Been getting some really good weed.
My lil' bro's been all over that new Gorillaz. I've only heard a couple o' tracks.

I've been mostly listening to Titus Andronicus, which Lep first brought to our attention. Thank you Lep! I like the CD a lot.

Good to know. So the promise of the promo is held up throughout?

Myself, most recently I've been listening to Dolly Parton (Just Because I'm a Woman, Coat of Many Colors, My Tennessee Mountain Home, Jolene and 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs, the last of which has a very good version of Woody Guthrie's "Deportee," in keeping with the concept of the album) and Jams Dean ("I love them girls in Chicago with the weird tattoos, with the fixed-gear bikes and the fancy hairdos, with the heels and the bangs and the hoop earrings, when they smile you can see they got vampire fangs.")

I've gotta start visiting these boards more because, yeah, that album is really good. Long boring review to follow shortly. In addition:

Alex Chilton - Like Flies On Sherbert
Big Star - Third/Sister Lovers
High On Fire - Snakes For The Divine
Accept - Restless And Wild
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
The Knack - ...But The Little Girls Understand
Black Sabbath w/ Rob Halford - 2004 Live Bootleg

Yup. They're young, earnest and repeatedly anthemic, and the songs hold together nicely. The chorus that's stuck in my head all week has been "You will always -- be a loser", and it's got many such great moments.

[Tho a hint to the producer: having a guy who's like 21 years old trying to speak in an old and creaky Abe Lincoln voice is a bad, bad idea. just have him talk normally next time]
