Indietastic.net is discussing three new tracks from the upcoming Wilco album, due May 15 on Nonesuch. What do you think?

I think they're overrated.

I think you're trying to torture us, Jake. I really do.

I grabbed them this morning, probably right before they were pulled. Good stuff. Nels Cline definitely makes his presence known, which is always a good thing. After being let down by A Ghost Is Born I'm looking forward to this one.

Idolator is also discussing a couple of them...

After an initial listen, I'm surprised how pretty and "lite" this stuff sounds... I think it might be time to kick Stirrat out -- the Autumn Defense pussrock is rubbing off.

Pretty is one thing (Elliott Smith), Lite is yet another (Poco). I'll take pretty but am not interested in Lite so much.

One second I love what they're going for, the next I'm rocking on a yacht with men whose moustaches reach into their short shorts.

Can you think of any band in history that has released consistently good stuff for more than a ten year stretch without any duds? Not the Stones. Not Neil Young. Not Dylan.

With a stat like that, you should almost go by album, though. Wilco's put out 5 albums now over 12 years? Plus the Mermaid Avenue thingies.

Compare that to Creedence, who put out 6 classics in less than four years. Even if the "good" period of the Stones didn't last too long in terms of years, they're comparable as far as number of albums goes.

I'm obviously biased, but for a ten-year figure, I could go for Sonic Youth from EVOL to Washing Machine. Experimental would be the iffy one in there for me, but that's seven albums. Chop off the last two and you've still got five.

So, does anyone beat 6 good albums in a row?
