Looking forward to the new New Pornographers' CD that I just heard about briefly. Actually, I'm looking forward to buying more CDs now that I'm flush.

Got the Spoon and it doesn't disappoint. Reminds me of the good ole days when Girls Can Tell was on constant rotation.

Also got the new St. Vincent, Marry Me. Also, very, very strong. If you like Feist, you'd probably enjoy this disc.

That Spoon disc is very good. I heard St. Vincent on Sirius yesterday and it piqued my interest, I'll have to check that out.

I've been listening to Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, the new National, and the new Stars a lot (still trying to formulate an opinion on the last one).

Can anyone tell me about the following bands I've heard a song by and am interested in: Fields, Great Lake Swimmers, Bowerbirds, Page France?

i actually have the GLS but haven't listened to it as yet. However, I do have all the Page France cd's. Love them. Folky, straight-forward pop at its best. Haven't heard the others.

I actually downloaded the Stars' cd today but haven't listened yet. Very much looking forward to it, though.

I'm trying to be patient, but here's how I feel through about 10 listens: the highs are typically as high, but the lows (three songs come to mind) are wayyyyyyy lower -- like, awful. "Ghosts of Genova Heights," "Personal," and "Today!" are just terrible songs to me. But there's a few really great tracks.

Overall, a very good CD, but I don't think I'll ever like it more than Set Yourself on Fire.

i forgot that the new spoon was out yet. i'll have to give that a spin later, as it's too tight right now and i just got the new smashing pumpkins and potter soundtrack.

miss carol wrote:So I bought the latest Sinead O'Connor, thinking it was the Sly & Robbie disc. But it's not. Theology is very pretty and when I read the lyrics, I'm sure well written. Great voice, nice and sparse etc. But I was psyched for Irish-girl dub. Seems I'm very behind the times.

i've got this as well and i thought it was excellent. the dublin sessions are sparse, but the london sessions are anything but. i really love the song something beautiful. i've been playing this cd most of the night. i'd like to get that sly and robbie disc. always been a big o'connor fan.

I have the new spoon but I dl'd it from emusic. They don't have the bonus disc, Get Nice!. Anyone opinions on that? I'm considering just buying the physical cd to get the bonus disc.

Okkervil River, The Stage Names. Not quite grabbing me like Black Sheep Boy did, but still pretty good.
