I have a random question that's bugging me. There are three (at least three) indie rockstar Kim's -- Kim Deal, Kim Gordon, and Kim ?
Can anybody think of the third?

Ah, no, I don't think so...not sure "betty davis eyes" classifies as indie...but thanks!

OK, I guess there are actually 4...Here's what the question is from:

cause I don't fit into this indie scene
Huggy Bear and Helium and Half Japanese
Sebadoh and Sentridoh
and Superchunk
and I don't know
Doug and Lou and Calvin too
and Kim and Kim and Kim and Kim
Well he's stuck in the past
and I'm stuck on his four track
but I can't get through to his one-track mind

Well, there's that old crank Kim Fowley, a foul-mouthed geezer who had a few psychedelic-era, Nuggets-type songs in the 60s. He also claims total responsibility for the punk rock scene in Los Angeles. (Because he produced and wrote some songs for the Runaways, I guess.)

You can get all the dirt on this particular Kim in the relatively new book, We Got the Neutron Bomb.

Kim Fowley is also totally responsible for the Detroit scene...

I'd like to know why there are suddenly so many performers with the prefix "Lil'," as being diminutive doesn't necessarily seem to be a requirement.

...you think maybe Mary Lou was giving a shout out to Lil' Kim?
