They all laughed when Martinville recorded sound?

I thought this story was pretty cool...

A group of scientists have figured out how to play a 148 year old "phonautograph" - an imprint that recorded sounds visually. The "recording' was never intended for playback.

The recording, a woman singing Clair de la Lune, was made on April 9, 1860 - nearly 30 years before Edison recorded sound.

Thanks for that link. Both of them. I briefly looked for a sound file after reading that first link, gave up, and then noticed one here.
It's totally creepy.

That's really cool. And I'm sure someone somewhere is already remastering it.
