Hoot and other fun words and phrases

Postby Sven Killer Robot Spacema » Thu Apr 17, 2008 2:11 pm

According to the Weezer thread(and the book of Thesalonians) Jake has a boner for the word "hoot".
However he's using it kind of in place of the "f" word as in --"I don't give a hoot." Isn't the most common usage for hoot "that was a hoot" meaning that was a good ole time! There was a movie with Harry Dean Stanton where he kept referring to coffee as a" cup of Good Morning America"--
quite possibly a David Lynch flick. Don't think it was "Wild At Heart" because that's one of my all time favorites and I don't remember it in that one. Anyhoo...any other phrases or words that we can incorporate in our mundane lives would be creamy.

Don't make me open a can of whoop-ass on you.

A can? That's silly. My whoop-ass only comes in 55-gallon drums.

"You're all wet!"

I love that. I don't even understand how it's a put down, but it's great.

"Scram!"

Is that a word? What is the origin? Is it Polish?

"I like the cut of his jib."

Also, "Nuts!"

I recommend using that word on St. Patrick's Day after you've been drinking (heavily) for 12 straight hours, and there's a guy at the bar hitting obnoxiously on your pals' girlfriends while your pals are up on stage. "Scram" will start the ball rolling in the process of getting him out of the way...

PS - When a bar offers a $5 Long Island Ice Teas, it's usually a bad idea. Especially after drinking (heavily) for 12 straight hours...

It may have been. It's one of my favorites too, but one of the best lines from it that I like is "Pretty hard to be making contact with the enemy when you're out floatin in the fuckin' gulf of Tonkin!!"
My recent favorites are "Fuckhole" or "Suckhole" and I've been trying like crazy to bring back the word "Twat."

It's best if you pronounce it to rhyme with hat rather than hot. Makes it an even worse insult.
