Paul Newman beats Robert Redford to death

Newman died of cancer - I didn't even know he was sick. 83 years old.

I think I'll go rent Hud in his honor - excellent movie.

Good luck with that. Most I could ever get down in one sitting was 24.

I just read the Vanity Fair article about him not to long ago about his recent health failings. I had no idea, but afterwards began to prepare myself for a headline like this.
I'm going to enjoy a salad tonight with some Newman's Own Raspberry Walnut dressing.
I'll even throw on some feta cheese on there for Strother Martin.
In all seriousness though, what a stand-up guy.

Just read that one today. They quote a Fox News report that said Newman had transferred all his holdings in Newman's Own foodlines to charity in June of this year, after donating upwards of $120 million.

Hell of a guy and star of my favorite movie of all time: Cool Hand Luke.

I am formally putting his name in for Upright Standing Man of the Year.

Damn.

This is really sad. He's a true legend.

Whenever I'm channel surfing and come across "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," I have to stop and watch. I feel compelled. He will be missed.
