Olivia Tremor Control - Music From The Unrealized Film Script, Dusk At Cubist Castle

Great, unhinged psychedelic pop. Take the Dukes of Stratosphear, add more expansively ambitious tunes, lather rinse repeat.

The suffering of others. Mmm...schadenfreude.

I didn't know they had something new out! The stuff on their Myspace page sounds really good. I think I might have to pick this one up.

Oddly enough, "Don't Do It" by the Band. Especially the line "My biggest mistake was lovin' you too much/And lettin' you know" Seems counter-intuitive, don't it?

And also "Steady Baby" by Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Trio.

What's lifted me up recently (besides the thought of Sarah Palin having to frump back to Alaska in sweatpants):

1. The Traveling Wilbury's "Heading for the Light"

2. The new British Sea Power disc.

3. Seeing Jesse Malin play in some ludicrously small dive in DC. I think his fucking tour bus was bigger.
