That is absolutely fantastic.

The New Yorker had a big piece on jazz radio that included this anecdote:

During a Thelonious Monk festival, one of the d.j.s went on about how Monk created art out of "wrong notes." Monk, who rarely spoke to anyone, much less a college student, called the college radio station and, on the air, declared, "The piano ain't got no wrong notes."

Ha! The station either made its entire budget during funding drive with that "endorsement" or died!

I have to point out that he was a terrible financial adviser and his recipe for snickerdoodles called for a quarter cup of broken glass. Grain of salt, that's all I'm sayin'.
