I'd be interested in a review of that.

well i may not be able to do that, as the new michelle shocked hasn't left my cd until just this afternoon. she's gone and done a 180 by recording a rock album. it's her punkiest and popiest (in a good sense) record yet. i recall liking what i heard of the new jason lytle though/ still it's a little too early to tell as i've only given it one spin.

Fantastic show! I'd pay that amount to see Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings again, absolutely. In my top-five of live shows, no question. Good ol' fashioned soul review with nods to the Godfather of same.

My Bloody Valentine on July 30th! Their only mid-atlantic show bitches!*

*Excuse my overenthusiasm, but summer concerts in Richmond usually consist of Foreigner and Jimmy Buffet tribute bands.

Just picked up this universal player from Amazon. Amazing sound, a huge improvement from my '90s-vintage Denon CD player. Plus it plays everything including SACD, DVD-A and HDCD.

King Sunny Ade and Femi Kuti in a free double bill on Saturday at Harbourfront, an outdoor venue. The price is right; all it costs is time, which is at a premium for me.

regina spektor - far
r.e.m. - reckoning (25th anniversary deluxe edition)
the lemonheads - varshons
bjork - voltaic
the dark tower 5: wolves of calla

the bjork is amazing. the cd really captures the feel of her live shows during this tour even though it's not really a live show. i'm also really excited about finishing the dark tower series.
