The Campaign to Save Paste
: If you donate, you get to download a bunch of rare tracks. Is this the new model for print mags?

I going to sound churlish, but is Paste a charity? There are a couple of magazines that are (MS and Canada's The Walrus) to which you can made a tax-deductible donation, so this isn't a new model. But "donating" to a business stinks. Yes, periodicals are going through hell right now and there will be a many that don't survive the recession. Advertisers are pulling out of most periodicals now. Perhaps gaining charitable status (however you do that in the States) is the answer for a cultural magazine like Paste.
Ok I could go on, and likely I will, but I've just been summoned to an author meeting that includes beer.
OK, now that Carol's gone

This is fucked. For-profit businesses begging for charity with lines like "Even a small contribution can make a big difference" is complete bullshit. Raise your subscription rates, cut your costs, adjust your budgets, whatever, but don't pretend to be a non-profit.

That was like a vintage "sab" post. Nice!

Steve-o needs you!
The Global Recession has taken it's toll on musically inclined office drones. These days, it's just getting harder and harder to pay for all the shows, CD's, musical equipment, lobster dinners and mountains of blow that I require in order to maintain my lifestyle. So I'm appealing to you, the loyal Glono posters, to help me continue living the dream. Even a small contribution can make a difference. As long as that contribution comes in $20's and $50's.
So please, dig deep and find it in your hearts to give me money. And in case I haven't quite tugged your hearstrings enough, here's a picture of a sad puppy. C'mon, do it for the puppy!:

Raised $166,000 so far. That's a lot of money.

As usual, the stupid people subsidize the smart ones... Glad I'm one of the latter.
