Re: Don't Tell Your Friends About the Two of Us, Johnny's 2002 article about Phil's Creepout Mix

Nine years ago, we promised we'd post the full track list. Don't ever let anybody tell you that GLONO doesn't keep its word. Here it is in all its glory.

Have You Never Been Mellow?
70s Creepout

1. Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street
2. Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight
3. Steeler's Wheel - Stuck in the Middle with You
4. America - Ventura Highway
5. Eagles - One of These Nights
6. Rolling Stones - Fool to Cry
7. Jefferson Starship - Miracles
8. 10cc - I'm Not in Love
9. Electric Light Orchestra - Strange Magic
10. Orleans - Dance with Me
11. Al Stewart - Time Passages
12. Olivia Newton-John - Have You Never Been Mellow
13. Bread - If
14. Hall & Oates - Sara Smile
15. Michael Martin Murphy - Wildfire
16. America - Sister Golden Hair
17. George Harrison - My Sweet Lord
18. Badfinger - Day After Day

It's a pretty amazing mix. Even the bad songs fit right in and nail the mood. This mix is an extremely accurate representation of what it was like to be a little kid in the mid-70s, driving around in your parents' car (unbelted, of course), and listening to the radio while you're looking out the windows, dreading school starting back up in the fall.

I can smell the green vinyl seats in my dad's Dodge Swinger heating up as we listen to this.

Wait, I think I totally missed the point here. I take back my suggestions, especially "Still the One," which would be the exact opposite of what y'all are looking for. Actually, every one of my suggestions would be for the answer mix of 70s songs about "twue love." I'm a dillhole. Carry on.

I don't know, jaimoe0 - Jim Croce always gives me kind of a creepy vibe, especially on that song. Or maybe 'Cat's In The Cradle'.

Also:
Devil Woman - Cliff Richards
One Tin Soldier - Coven
The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia - Vicki Lawerence

"Rhiannon" fits for sure though.

That's Harry Chapin, dude. Which I think might fit.

"In the Navy" doesn't fit though. It's too fun and happy. There needs to be some undercurrent of meloncholy.

Yes. It's creepy because these are the songs playing in the van of that dude with a huge mustache who's wearing a denim shirt while he's stalking your mom outside of a Jewel in Waukegan, Illinois. Got it?
