OK, it's been ages since I visited here, and this makes me sad; but coming back makes me unreasonably happy. One of the great things about this forum was having new music recommended to me by folks with taste, folks who I trust. In that spirit, go now! Listen to Tony Molina! He has a release out called "Dissed and Dismissed." It is a melodic riot of power pop goodness driven by Molina's dexterous, meaty and melodic guitar work, and it's 12 songs in about 11 minutes. No joke! While the songs never really feel unfinished, you do wish they were longer because they're so damn good. Go. Listen. Report back!

It just occurred to me that Molina reminds me of Yuck on their self-titled debut album (which is great). Admittedly, Yuck's song lengths are more conventional.

Yeah, yeah, yeah! I can hear that. Jake, you familiar with Yuck? Self-titled album is great. I'm not familiar with the second yet. Anyway, I think you'll hear a bit of the Weezer imprint there as well.

I've only heard a couple Yuck songs. Worth checking out?

Yeah, Jake. I think you would like Yuck. Well, I think you would like their self-titled debut. I haven't listened to the later stuff, but the main singer-songwriter-guitarist left the band, and my friend tells me the second effort suffers from his absence ... as you might expect.
