Pictchfork gives Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot a 10.0 and one of the most straight-forward, well-written reviews I've read on that site:

And there's a new, in-depth article in the New York Times:

Well, I'm off to go pick up my YHF a day early. Tough luck to all you slugs that are waiting until tomorrow!!

Tomorrow, I'll post my first reaction to it. I've not yet heard one track off of it.

Best line in that review and the best way to decribe the record: No one is too good for this album; it is better than all of us.

[listening now] Wow! I love this cd. I think there's a cooler review here, however....

Yep, I love it!! I've listened to it once in it's entirety and re-played Jesus, etc. twice. So far, that's the one that has its nails dug into my flesh but there's a lifetime of listening to come.

Last album had me at ELT. Which then led to How To Fight Loneliness. Currently, my fave is She's A Jar.

Do you find you listen to Wilco as an album or a single most of the time?

I listen to Wilco albums. I put songs on mixes of course, but I mainly listen to whole Wilco albums. YHF is particularly suited for that kind of listening. I think there's a real flow to the album. I did just put Jesus etc. on a mix for Josh Rogers this weekend though.
