Fiona sings backup on Johnny Cash's version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Thinkin about using it as the background song as a tribute to my dog Lula the golden retreiver when she passes on! Video of her swimming the mighty Ausable river in the Adirondacks when Sven and the lady boxers invaded the states!

Fuck all y'all! I lick myself! I party my ass off! I do what I want! Whatever! You probably own a cat! You know what John Stewart said about cats when his fiance' said it would cost 400 bucks to save their cat! "It's just a cat. Why can't we just get another cat?."

No, I don't. I prefer them as a food source...sauteed with onions and mushrooms. Why hasn't Sven paper trained you yet?

I just heard Social D, one of my favorite bands, covering "Death or Glory," one of my favorite songs. But it didn't really work...kind of like, I like Sweet Tarts and I like Pepsi, but I don't put them in my mouth at the same time.

Very disappointing.

cover songs

I tried to think of a few great ones that no one had mentioned:
Gang of Four - Sweet Jane (Velvet Underground)
Yo La Tengo - Little Honda (the Beach Boys)
Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen)
Elvis Costello - I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down (Sam & Dave)
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Avalanche (and Leonard Cohen again)

How about worst covers? The first thing that comes to my mind is Rod Stewart doing "Downtown Train," a song that had meaning on Rain Dogs before Stewart had to poop all over it.

Best covers:
Johnny Cash-Hurt (NIN)
Black Keys-Grown so ugly (Captain Beefheart)
Minutemen-Lost (Meat Puppets)
Iron & Wine-Such Great Heights (Postal Service)

This one intrigues me more, because the only thing I love more than one's success is failure
Joss Stone-Fell in Love With a Girl (White Stripes) Damn. She managed to really castrate the hell out of this song. Literally, she chopped off this songs balls. If you haven't heard it, don't give yourself the displeasure of having your ears raped by it, just avoid it completely.
Whitney Houston-That song from he move The Bodyguard A.K.A. I will always love you (Dolly Parton) I'm not a Dolly fan, but she's got a hell of a voice, something Whiney doesn't have. She attempts to cover up this fact with her high-pitched squeaking, but only manages to make the song worse.

That is all.

hmmm, i must admit i like the part where she squeels. what's frustrating is; i could never karaoke it.
i also like sinead o connor's version of chiquitita

worst cover versions;
atomic kitten; ladies night (eh but that's also a guilty pleasure)
atomic kitten; the tide is high (much less pleasure)
lenny kravitz; american woman
ub40; i can't help falling in love with you
gareth gates; spirit in the sky
placebo; running up that hill
wet wet wet; love is all around

(i do realize anything to come out of most of those artists hands has a large probability to be crap and mentioning them is too much praise)
