PENTHOUSE SWEETS
Chicago's Penthouse Sweets play punky boy-pop with tongue-in-cheek lyrics, jangly Sea and Cake style beats, and a country attitude. Though they have a basic lineup of two guitars, a bass and drums, these four fall back on their individual experience in other bands to deliver bullshit-free music and raucous live shows. Having earned the respect of their peers, the Penthouse Sweets get by on their music and their rocker-boy good looks.

THE MUGGS (members of The Paybacks)
The Muggs threaten the confines of any small venue with explosive guitars and machine-gun drums. The Detroit-based trio -- formed in 2000 -- channels the chops that made Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath famous. Their blues influences shine through, though, and make for truly rockin' music.

THE ONLYS
The Onlys are an Austin, Texas, based band with only one goal - creating interesting sounds. Joined by Rachel Romo, brothers Joel and Jason Chenoweth experiment with vintage synthesizers, noise modulation, scratchy guitars, and samples -- whatever it takes to piece together soft, trippy melodies that soothe the ear yet satisfy any hungry appetite for tasty Brit-pop. Intelligent lyrics relayed through fuzzily modified vocals make The Onlys' music brilliantly lovely.
