They should have reincarnated the energy of "Beast," "Piece" or "Powerslave." This song is simply seven minutes of yawn that recalls "Fear Of The Dark."
Note to Maiden: show me that you have the same chops that you did twenty years ago. If anything, metal upstarts need a reminder of why Maiden is so revered some quarter century later. Until that time, I'll just continue to complete the back catalog (debut to "Powerslave") and steer clear of new material. With that being said, I'd still pay to see these guys live. The Rio dvd I watched a few years ago when Bruce came back to the fold completely ruled.

They did have a fine, fine song, "The Wicker Man" a few years back that had that classic Maiden sound.

I think it was on Bruce's first album back in the fold.

2003's Dance of Death was way better than it had a right to be. I was expecting to be thoroughly disappointed and wound up being pleasantly surprised by the energy, chops and riffage. Maybe my low expectations helped, but that album sits proudly next to Killers and Number of the Beast on my shelf.

You are right and you are correct. As a whole. though, the album
(Brave New World) wasn't that great from start to finish.

That is a pretty good album...Probably their best since "Powerslave." I'm just considering the band's incredible track record of 5, count 'em, five classic metal albums in a row. Judging from this new cut, it doesn't sound like they're able to regain the consistancy they once had. That's what I mean by chops. But hey, this may have just been a poor decision for a lead-off track. Plus, it's a dumb video too.

I'll see your Avenged Sevenfold and raise you a Dragon Force. This shit is so ridiculous it's hard to even laugh at. If you start to watch this and get bored, I beg you to skip ahead to the 3 minute mark. At roughly 3:20 there is the most insanely choreographed twin guitar-off in quite some time.

[Edited: you gotta remove the "<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZuodOsIE7cg"></param>" part, and the final </object>.]

Awesome! The guitars sound like they're doing high-speed dubbing on a cd burner. I love how the one dude was drinking a beer while the other guitarist (he looked Asian) was shredding. Then he puts it down when it comes time for his solo. It's like they're suggesting to the viewer: "We're so badassed, we can do this shit in our sleep. That url is definitely getting forwarded tonight.

That was ridiculous. At first I listened without sound and thought it would be like growly. Then I turned it up and it was more like Rush on helium. Well conditioned hair though. Kudos for the locks.

Oh yeah. That's why people hate metal.

I simply had to go to theDragon Force website and learn more about them.
"Winner of the Dimebag Darrell Best Young Guitarist award at Metal Hammer UK’s Golden Gods, Li and his six-string partner in crime Sam Totman have never sounded hungrier nor eager to prove their worth. From the start of each song to its exhausted finish, notes fly from all angles. The album ends with its sole ballad, ‘The Trail Of Broken Hearts’, though as Totman quite rightly points out: "We still managed to squeeze three separate guitar solos in." However, shredding for shredding’s sake has never been among the band’s intentions. Although keen to squeeze as many notes as possible into certain songs, this time the pair has experimented with various new textures and sounds."
I'm a little confused fellas: Isn't squeezing in three separate guitar solos in your album's sole ballad essentially shredding for shredding's sake? When you listen to their tracks without watching the video, you get listener fatigue.
