Warning to Message Board Posters from Ryan posted by RYAN on 6/2/03 9:31:44 PM
Ive noticed alot of you responding to the posts left by Elvissinatra. This is what i know so far. At the ryan-adams-yahoo homepage place he is under THREE NAMES. ALL THE SAME PERON/ JAKE/. he runs Glorious Noise, an online zine, hack journalism at best. like No Depression without a genre oriented audience. Anyway his yahoo accounts are Pool Shark3, jgb95 and Elvissinatra. He is also in here responding to himself, the way he responds to himself at yahoo groups. Its to try and lead people to his web site, at the expense of you and myself. Jack Hackass all so had posted at Guitartown.Yahoo groups a carolina based message board for people down there. He asked if I was kicked off Guitartown and started some other thread about "SNAKE IN THE GRASS" warning people of himself, and how he would use posts that you made against you, or whatever, in his online forum. JACK IS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE VELVET ROPE "THIS MEMBERS ONLY MUSIC INDUSTRY CHATTER ROOM WHERE HE INVESTIGATED WEATHER OR NOT I HAD A 2 MILLION DOLLAR APAARTMENT. He actually POSTED his RESARCH on hios web site. He also called my fiance a "Heiress" which is so ridiculous that only someone with no class would have the balls to re-print unresearched. the fact that he gives such a fuck makes me suspect........Why does Jake have such a hard on for me? hmmmm. I suspect that besides running a shitty little web site we know this person. In any event, he is using more than one Sur-name arguing with himself to make his agruemnts more relevant. In any event I thought you should know. Its all very boring when they do it isnt it............

For the record, I've never used multiple login names to have conversations with myself. Other people respond to my posts. Oh, and I think we've got a new tagline: "Glorious Noise, an online zine, hack journalism at best. like No Depression without a genre oriented audience."
LOVE IS HELL SET/ new ethan thing/ Whiskeytown posted by RYAN on 6/2/03 9:55:44 PM
here are the facts. AGAIN> Lost Highway and I are finishing artwork, and looking into the mastering of the set. 4 albums. "The Suicide handbook", "48 hours" "Pinkhearts" and "Love is Hell".......theyll all come together and were suggesting a retail price of 25bucks or so, that way you get it for the price of an album and an e.p. Not bad me thinks. Theyll come together in one cool box and Im working on a booklet with funky quotes from Billy Mercer, Ethan, other people who were around when we were making the stuff and some people who hate me. The hate quotes are gonna be priceless. Because really, lets face it, there are alot of people who do. I personally love that. anyway..............................we are still trying to decide weather to release these BEFORE or AFTER this new thing with Ethan. In any event I have one month to record something new and make this decision. If a new record I feel stronger about comes first, then well release that and THEN the set. (its not a boxed set by the way, that would infer carerr spanning, its 3free albums for the price of one anmd a single)..................................The Whiskeytown stuff is sort of true in a way. It wouldnt happen immediately. I think Id like very much to go and work on some mussic with Cailtin and Skillet and seeing as weve been talking about it for awhile now, why not. Caitlin has her own life now out there and so do I which would only make it more fun for both of us. Besides, Skillet started thi whole crazy rollercoaster we have both been on. Im glad we got together aand played music bqack in Raleigh back then. Im glad he encouraged me. I think its time Whisjeytown make an actual record we like. People that think Strangers was the best thing are misguided. We did alot of great stuff we just didnt have the time or wherewithall to put aany of it out. Its really the on going curse. More recorded material than can be released at the time. Famous or not,Indie or Major label, more than an album or year is hard on everybody. Stores dont want stuff they cant sell. Recently Rolling Stone said my last three records have sold barely over 500,000albums. Id like to point out that they were referring to US Sales, and only those accounted for by Soundscan. There is no accurate international number of albums for an artist but I know for a fact I sell more in Europe and elsewhere than the US. Nobody in rock sells more at home. Nobody that I know of anyway...............................How am I going to do all this stuff? 4 Album release- new Ethan produced Solo album/Whiskeytown record?/.................the 4 albums are done, all I have to do is say when. Its a matter of WHEN now, not IF. as far as a new record I am one weekend away of sitting down with him and deciding which new tunes to record. Thats a definate. We both feel a new album in the works and Im gonna follow that feeling. That feeling led me to Heartbreaker and to Gold. its popular nowadays to dis GOLD. I find that hilarious. In the age of Pete Yorn and 80s revival rock I had enough balls to go to LA and crawl into an album about actually enjoying myself. Showtunes and Cocaine aside I dare someone to make a record like that. Were not supposed to fuck movie stars and act like out strange rock fantasys I guess. Well I did. and I did it on record. I stand behind that album. And anything else I decide to release. No tour plans yet as Id like to tackle this new recording and decide what to do with whiskeytown. Im feeling a fall tour now though. Leona is gonna be out there and fuck if Im staying at home.

Chandler and Joey have free porn. Ross is depressed as usual. Relationship problems. I think Ross is best when he is with a girl. Most guys are. Thank God for Monica though because she is better than just a sister. shes a friend. Always being anal and cleaning everything. I bet she is a monster in bed though. Acting out her messiness on, (well eventually) Chandler. I dont like Rachel. She is too wishy washy. I mean, anybody who could love Berry.

Popular nowadays to dis Gold? I heard that No Derpression was going to issue a one word review when the album was released.

That word? Pyrite.

The guy should feel free to release whatever he and his label deem worthy. But that doesn't guarantee that the general public is going to like the material.

Oh Jake, that's so f*cking brilliant!

This is like kicking a stray dog. It's easy, hillarious, and doesn't weigh on one's conscious.

Jake, you are a lucky man. I haven't seen vitriol towards the media (which GloNo is) from an artist like that in a long time. Not only is it funny as shit, it's a tribute to you that you got under his skin, got him all paranoid. Way to go!!!

I'll admit I don't know enough about Ryan's music to truly have an informed opinion about it; he's one of those artists I've heard bits of here and there, enough to know that at some level I honestly have respect for him. I think (thought?) that his motivations for creating music are (were?) true. But seeing him carry on like No Depression's premier diva kinda gives a potentially curious fan like myself a bit of a cold shower. We haven't seen a nervous breakdown in the making this flagrant since Mariah cracked. Ryan, lay off the stuff.

It's pretty obvious it doesn't take much effort to get under his skin. And I care a hell of a lot more about stray animals than the words of a pretentious drama queen/bully like Ryan Adams.

Isn't that a Christian rock group? In order to differentiate, you'd have to put an image of poor ol' Ryan with big hangdog eyes, tied to a whipping post, wearing a sign that says "Poor Me", and whimpering. Do any of the more PhotoShop-adept GloNo readers wanna take a crack at it? I've seen some great photo mock-ups on these boards before.
