"I feel bad that people wasted their money on such trite, blah pop music," says Moore about her earlier music.
Moore, Mandy Moore
now if only others would take the same high road...

her coverage album is really, really good. her choices of covers are absolutely unique. out of all the teen pop stars she really has the potential to be something more musically.

She's dreamy.

I've always respected Mandy because she seems embarassed by her beginnings and has tried to make a go of it in a more "authentic" fashion.

Or maybe it's just because she's dreamy. That Zach Braff thing gave me hope that sometimes dorky white guys with big noses can snag a hottie. Renews my faith in man (or woman, as it were).

i dig that she (an outspoken Christian) did Saved, and played a character that embodies the worst aspects of hypocritical religious types without condemning the good of religion (which the movie did pretty well)
Does she get indie cred for her Michael Stipe duet?

Yeah, I have to confess a huge crush on Ms. Moore too.

Check out her versions of Joe Jackson's "Breaking Us In Two" and XTC's "Senses Working Overtime" from that Coverage album. Good stuff, IMO

I've got Coverage, too... I don't know if I'm interested in much prior to that record, but I'll probably check out whatever comes next. Her version of "Drop the Pilot" is pretty damn solid.

Did you look at the credits on that record, by the way? Evan Dando, Dan Wilson, etc. I like the circles she's moving in...
