Them Crooked Vultures

So, Pitchfork has posted the first single by Them Crooked Vultures (Josh Homme/Dave Grohl/John Paul Jones): ... -new-fang/

I've listened to it twice and am wondering if it can possibly be as great as I think it is. I hope so. Love the fact that the production isn't shiny like all Foo Fighters and some QOTSA. And, man, it's good to hear Grohl on drums again!

I just hope the rest of the album holds up. If so, I think we could have a contender for best straight-up ROCK album of the decade.

On first listen: Drums sound awesome. Not 100% convinced by the vocals. Seems like the guitars ought to sound more badass, but I like that they're kind funky. Overall, a lot less slick than I'd expect from a project this high profile...

I dig this song plenty. I would like to put this on a mix with the Dead Weather and get crazy in my basement.
