I'm going to be in Chicago for a couple of business meetings on March 16th & 17th. Looking to see if there are any shows, on the 17th, 18th or 19th worth extending my trip a day or two, to see.
Couldn't just be any old show, would have to be somebody worth it, as I would be paying extra days, on top of the ticket price. Airfare wouldn't likely be much different, but I'd be paying for the hotel room for an extra day or two. Would have to be a show that would merit the expense.
Cursory search on:
http://chicago.metromix.com/
...didn't turn anything up.
I'm sure there are better places to look.
I'm also going to check what shows are at the art galleries.
Looking for a good excuse to take in an extra day in Chicago. Haven't been there in almost 20 years, so...

St. Patrick's Day weekend in Chicago? Yeah, you should be able to find something to do. As long as you like to drink...and fight.
The Chicago Reader's site is a good place to look.
Friday, March 18
Willie Nelson at the Chicago Theatre
Saturday, March 19
Salt-n-Pepa, Doug E. Fresh, Biz Markie at Arie Crown Theater
Or you could just go the Hideout and hang out with locals.

Well, I'm here... Arrived from SxSW a few hours ago.
Have back to back meetings all day for the next two days, and a business party to attend on Thursday night.
I leave around noon on Friday.
That basically gives me tomorrow night, if I'm going to get out. But I have early meetings the next morning, so I cannot really get out for serious partying.
Also, really strange arrival ... kind of surreal.
I arrive, and the valet opens the door to the cab ... I have not spoken to him, nor called the hotel in advance, regarding my arrival. The valet says, "Hello Chris G------, welcome to the James Hotel, can I get your bags?" I don't know how he knew who I was. I go to check in, and they put me in the corner room on the top floor. Later, I have drinks with my boss in the lobby bar, and when we leave to goto our rooms, we get in the elevator and he asks me for my floor to push the button for me. I tell him 17, and he asks, "How did you get the penthouse?" and they've got him down on the 4th floor. I would presume they'd mistaken me for someone else, but they knew my name. It's like, strange alternate reality night.
