As a compliment to Shecky's Perennial Favorites thread: What albums are currently taking up time normally devoted to those well worn ones?

Komeda: I recently discovered this band and they've renewed my faith in pop music. "The Genius of Komeda" and "What Makes it Go?" have been constantly played for about three weeks now. Without a doubt the best "new" band I've come across in years.

I'll spare you the long paragraphs I had come up with on each of these and instead just list them:

Salaryman - Karoshi
Mouse on Mars - Niun Niggung
Beck - Midnite Vultures
Cornelius - Fantasma
Cake - Comfort Eagle
Talking Heads - Stop making Sense

So what are you on these days?

Hmm...actually, this list is almost the same as my perennial list, but I'll list recent acquisitions:

• Gorillaz
• Chemical Brothers-Surrender
• Travis-The Invisible Band
• Guided By Voices-Isolation Drills
• Charles Mingus-Ah Um
• White Stripes-White Blood Cells
• Detroit Cobras-Mink Rabbit Or Rat

Thanks to the hoopla Johnny caused with hiws Strokes post, I have been listening to the Strokes ever since. It's damn catchy music, kids.
Also:
White Stripes: White Blood Cells (I am a slave to hype)
George Harrison: All Things Must Pass
Wilco: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (I'll still buy it when it's officially released. It's THAT good)
Blue Ribbon Brothers: American Music EP (I don't why I love this CD so much...)

That's it right now.

I've been listening to Wilco's new one, Clem Snide's The Ghost of Fashion, Elliott Smith's self-titled album, a two-disk collection of Them, the Nuggets II box, and the Buffalo Springfield box. I can't wait to pick up the new Sparklehorse album...
