this is about the article derek wrote on ugly casanova
i heard that people have speculated that issac brock is really ugly casanova or its his super ego
i feel like this could be plausible considering issac is a genius and no one knows anything about casanova
plus i like thinking about conspiracies |

| Didn't they originally use the story of a crazy fan as basis for the lyrics in the Moon and Antarctica? About a year later it's suddenly the inspiration for Ugly Casanova. And now the new Modest Mouse record released last April sounded a lot like Ugly Casanova in places (read:Tom Waits). Either it's Issac or the man has been completely out of ideas for the last three years and is relying soley on inspiration from mystery fan. |

Huh?
I thought the story was: an obssessive Modest Mouse fan gave Issac a book full of songs and, inspired, Issac recruited that guy from the Velvet Teen and some other people to record them.
Which I always saw as a nice myth to dress up his working with other people. I think it's just a side project. |

its just incrediably annoying because every story or website ive heard or visited gives a different version of the ugly casanova story.
the strangest thing to me is why would issac brock have such a fasicnation with this guy that he would go to the touble of putting together an album for him...if he is really just a crazy fan who followed the band around. what the hell. |

| It's not real. It's just a funny little myth they created. |
