I think we can file a class-action suit against Rivers for bringing "We Are All On Drugs" into the world. I want some money back for that traumatic experience.

See, it's stuff like that that makes me think there is still some good left in the world. All is as it should be.

On a related note, what's a good site to find stats on record sales and things like that? I have really tried, and had no luck finding anything that isn't a subscription service.

Weekly sales info: Hits.

Total sales: the best bet is to google Billboard like this:

http://www.google.com/search?q=site:billboard.com+"according+to+Nielsen+SoundScan"+weezer

And replace weezer with whatever band you're researching. Of course, you have to look at the date of the Billboard article the info is coming from.

But there's no free access to live Soundscan data.

Update: As of August 21, 2009:

2008's "Weezer" - 443,000
1994's "Weezer" (a.k.a. "The Blue Album") - 3.3 million
2001's "Weezer" (a.k.a. "The Green Album") - 1.6 million
1996's "Pinkerton" - 852,000

So in the past four years, Blue has sold an additional 300,000, Green has sold around 50,000, and Pink has sold around 47,000. Blue has the most legs, apparently. Not a huge surprise, but I'd've thought Pinkerton would have the longer tail...

Except stuff like this makes me think the world is still a little disordered:

1996 Pinkerton 784,655
