I'm trying really hard to get into the new album. I guess it will have to grow on me. Except "Baby Lee". that song is perfect.

Lately, I've been listening to The Joy Formidable:

The album kind of reminds me of if Slowdive and Lush had a baby. Awesome shoegazey dream pop.

This post sent me scrolling through YT watching their videos, and I like them a lot. Some of those songs are as much shoegazey power pop as they are shoegazey dream pop, and I guess I was in the mood for that.

Okay, this is weird. Lately I've really been into this label called Ghost Box, which puts out a lot of odd electronic music. First I got Ritual and Education, which was a sampler of the different artists on the label. Then I got Belbury Poly's The Willows, and I've been obsessed.

It's offbeat, spooky stuff. Kind of like if Stereolab did the score for some 60's psychedelic horror movie. I'm not even sure I really like it but I can't stop listening to it.

Check it out: http://www.ghostbox.co.uk/content/listen.htm

Also been re-listening to a lot of old punk (The Damned, Gang Of Four, Buzzcocks, Suicidal Tendencies, etc.)

That Belbury Poly is pretty good. Kind of a Boards of Canada/Black Moth Super Rainbow kind of thing. Digging it.

If you want some extra spooky electronic music I'd suggest checking out some Third Eye Foundation. Gives me the willies.

Hm. Kind of digging that Third Eye Foundation stuff. Man, the Brits do love their spooky music, huh?

Todd's review of Together inspired me to revisit Mass Romantic and the rest of the NP albums this summer. I'm even loving Challengers right now.

Well, yeah, because Challengers is awesome!

The phrase "unfairly maligned" comes to mind.

Absolutely! I would never call Challengers my favourite NP album, but surprisingly, it held my attention longer than any of the others. And I never felt the urge to skip a track.
