Since Jake mentioned it on the homepage, Soof's Casimir Pulaski Day definitely gives me goosebumps. All of The Wrens' Meadowlands has the same effect. I can't choose just one song, but when Charles Bissell starts screaming on 'This is Not you Had Planned' is one that stands out right now.

Just had another one:

On The Drive by Trucker's "Decoration Day", near the end after the last verse...there's a short pause in the music after Patterson stops his lyric...then the drums have a couple of beats and the dual guitars (a la Skynard) rush in.

Yeah, great moment. So many great lines in that tune.

It's the devil I love
And it's funny, like real love
And it's real, like true love

It's probably the good Catholic in me but I always get chills during "blasphemous" stuff.

My biggest is the Peter Tosh rap in Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up." Fires me up every time:

We're sick and tired of your -ism/schism game
Die and go to heaven in Jesus's name, lord
We all know and we understand
A mighty god is a living man
You can fool some people sometimes...

Also, Circulatory System in "Inside Blasts:"

Fools
If you're waiting on some paradise
Well don't forget your lives
Because we observe the myths tonight

I live for the human-to-human truth tellin' of rock.

I also get chills whenever the chorus kicks in on Elliott Smith's "King's Crossing."

i thought of one that gives me the chills/goosebumps. an unreleased live improv called roll over. i can't explain it but something about the chorus gets me everytime.

"roll over, roll over, roll over marguerite
roll your body over, roll your body over, roll on over and make room for me..."

I couldn't agree with you more, but surely you know that "Decoration Day" is a Jason Isbel tune, not a Patterson Hood song.
