I'm not particularly impressed with the Live365 site... I've managed to connect once to the HiFi playback but got shoddy throughput (the result of sharing a T1 with the rest of our corporate offices, I'd wager) and I haven't been able to connect at all to LoFi, from work or with my cable modem at home - the site never downloads the stream "pointer"... I'll keep trying, tho. I'd really like to hear it.

Josh, I think there should be a setting in the Live365 options to make it stream through your system's default mp3 player (e.g., WinAmp). I know WinAmp works better than Live365's player. Oh, but you're a Mac guy, aren't you? Can you play mp3 files on the Mac, ha ha? (Just kidding -- I know you can.)

Jake, you turned to the Dark Side so long ago you don't even remember what it's like, do you? Man, you used to be cool. <IMG SRC="/bb/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

I won't turn this into a tech support thread, but I'll point out that the problems are not in configuration. The site recognized and made use of iTunes the one and only time I've managed to connect, but since then the site response is just slow to nonexistant, so I haven't been able to listen - yet.

Carry on with your regularly scheduled discussion...

Josh, from the Live365 mailing list:

Try listening with your current player - if it doesn't

These will not interfere with any other audio applications
on your computer. We apologize for any inconvienence.

Doesn't anyone have anything to say about the music?

Note the difference between real radio and the Internet: One just requires ON-OFF and a tuning dial. The other. . .

I have lots to say about the music, but since I've programmed most of it, the conversation seems to happen mostly in my head. I fear we don't actually have any listeners. Internet radio is somewhat challenged in its usefulness. Perhaps next summer 3G cell phones might change that, but I doubt it. We'll be more likely to see a Bluetooth-enabled device on the market first--after all, Bluetooth phones were supposed to start shipping Summer 2000.

I have to stay away from it, coz of firewalls & stuff. But I wouldn't mind seeing the "DJ's" post their playlists here once & awhile.
