Newcastle, England, September 30, 2009

This was a sold out 1200-capacity crowd in the basement venue at Newcastle University. The crowd featured a mix of ages thanks to the new (older) fans of The Cribs that have come onboard since Johnny Marr joined.

I was here to photograph support act Adam Green. He delivered a typically frenetic set - in perpetual motion as if trying to avoid a hidden sniper in the crowd. He dived in the crowd three times and after a little manhandling made it back to the stage. He certainly won over any doubters in the crowd and received a rousing reception. The set was a mix of old favourites and new material. The Cribs watching from the side of the stage were surely impressed.

Tonight it wasn’t about Johnny Marr and The Cribs it was just The Cribs - Johnny Marr just happens to be the newest member who adds an extra dimension to their guitar sound. The Cribs played a blistering 75 minute set and new and old fans left happy.

For me it's always about Johnny Marr. Great shots (as always), David.

so did Johnny Marr tap into that Dick Clark fountain of youth? He looks young to me. Like always David, great photos

According to a recent interview, he's "vegan and teetotal" and he runs "50 miles a week."

Benefits of healthy living. Oh yeah, he also lives part of the time in Portland, Oregon. We all look fabulous.
