Democracy Delayed Yet Again

February 23, 2007

Like a bad joke that gets funnier with every telling, Guns N' Roses has pushed back the release date for Chinese Democracy yet again. As the March 6 release date looms I guess the pressure was just too much and now Axl has pulled ANY release date from the calendar. A message from GNR manager Del James on the band's website says the album is recorded and in the mixing stages, but anyone who's been involved in the production of an album can tell you that mixing can take at least as long (and often longer) than recording so I would target May of 2020 as the next "tentative" release date.

'Chinese Democracy' update

The good news is that all of the recording for the album has been completed. Drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal integrated themselves into the recordings seamlessly and will have their presence felt.

There is no official release date, as the band is currently mixing, but after some delays and scheduling difficulties, things appear to be moving along.

Take care,
Del James
