John Darnielle Talks Wood, Offers New Song

The Mountain Goats' John Darnielle talks to Gibson about his newly acquired '56 Gibson LG-1 and lists his Top 10 Tonewoods (wikipedia). Gotta love a guy who can get deeply nerdy about both metal and wood!

In other news, in what is becoming an annual tradition, Darnielle is giving away a free song. Last year it was the demo for "Michael Myers Resplendent" (mp3), the studio version of which appears on Heretic Pride, due in February. This year the song is from an unfinished collaboration with John Vanderslice...
