I saw Hancock at a small club a few years ago, and I remember thinking it was as close as I'd ever come to seeing Hank Williams. Senior, of course. Critics might blow him off as merely a mimic, but see him live and you'll be convinced of his authenticity and you'll realize that this music is alive and just as vital as it was sixty years ago. Wayne Hancock is the real thing.
