These United States - First Sight

February 13, 2008

I would have never guessed, way back in 1987, that OMD would hold as much sway over indie rock as it seems to today. Don’t get me wrong, I love “So In Love” and “If You Leave” as much, if not more, than the next (straight) guy, but I just didn’t expect their distinctly fey electro pop to still be in fashion twenty odd years later.

But here we are. From Death cab for Cutie, to British Sea Power to, now, These United States. Here’s a tasty pop song that is sure to rev your 1983 Dodge Omni engine.
