Glorious Noise Privacy Policy

Here at Glorious Noise, we take your privacy seriously. We really do. We like to be left alone most of the time, and we realize that you probably do too.

However, we like to know who is looking at our site and how they got here. It's all about serving you better, right? Or something like that. We use a couple of different tools to see who's coming and going. One is AWStats, which examines the webserver logs. The other is a homegrown stats app that we built to log the IP, the referrer, the browser, and all that shit that gets passed down to the server as variables. For example, this is what we know about you right now:

We've got a mailing list, and we'd like everybody to join it so we can send you updates about what's new on the site. Occasionally, we will look at the Comments in the Discussion pages or in the Message Boards and invite those people to join the mailing list. Don't worry—you can unsubscribe any time. It does hurt our feelings though when people unsubscribe. Seriously.

The Message Boards use technology from phpBB, but the data is stored on Glorious Noise's own server, so don't worry about that. The mailing list is powered by Mojo Mail, but it too lives on our server and nobody can get at it or misuse it.

Cookies

People who fear cookies are silly. Glorious Noise uses cookies in the following ways:

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We will never sell or rent your information to anyone. I don't think we really have any information that anybody would want. But the stuff that we do have will stay with us. Don't worry—we won't sell you out.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Glorious Noise may amend this policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on our pages. But remember, we don't really have any of your personal information. [Last updated February 1, 2005.]
