Ill gibe Bon Jovi (BJ for short) SOmE credit, they were "cool" in 5th grade...but how can people still listen to their shtick as adults? Just cuz Mr BJ was on Ally McBeal?

Maybe they aren't wrong. After all, they have to hold on to what they've got. It doesn't make a difference if they're ready or not. They've got each other, and that's enough for love...

This is a drag. Earlier this year I saw Glorious Noise, an online publication that critically assesses music and pop culture, create a record label to release it's own music. Silly me, I thought that only giant corporations such as AOL/Time Warner could be guilty of such an obvious conflict of interest. And now I see a lazy, unclever and pretentious review of a greatest hits package by a band has literally sold nearly 100 million records. Just goes to show that credibility really does lie in the eye of the beholder. The fact that I personally know the reviewer and how passionate he really is about music, makes it that much more disappointing.

Does this mean there really are 100,000,000 people who like Bon Jovi? Ack, this world is in worse shape than I thought.

Conflict of interest? This isn't a music journalism site. We're music fans and have decided to promote bands we think are good. We don't maintain any semblance of objectivity and never have.

As for Bon Jovi...Jake was being kind. This is a band ripe for the picking but we'd rather just let it die on the vine.

Fair enough. Perhaps you should change the name of your “Reviews” section to “Recommends”.

I'm not here to defend Bon Jovi. I just find it disappointing that ANY record be lazily reviewed in three words especially while things like "Charmed: The Soundtrack" http://www.gloriousnoise.com/reviews/001017_charmed_soundtrack.php get the full treatment.

GloNo has proven their literary prowess, so why not relax when they have a chance to zing an artist on occassion. It's not like Bon Jovi isn't deserving of it and they're not going to feel a negative impact from a three word review. Were you at the forefront of complaining when Quiet Riot received a two word review of "Condition Critical" ("...condition terminal") or when Johnny Hates Jazz received a brief review of their debut ("...jazz isn't too fond of you either")? It wasn't lazy and it's a shame that a good natured ribbing led to feel so disappointed enough to defend Bon Jovi. After all, that's really the only thing you managed to accomplish here.

Like Bon Jovi's music, I find JB's three word review mildly amusing yet harmless (this is not a put down or a compliment; it simply is what it is). Dan E. seems like a really fun guy. I'd love to meet him someday so he can tell me what it means to be hardcore.

Bon Jovi's lame...their most famous fans are Kevin Bacon and Bill Belichick. They're music your older sister's husband listens to. You have better taste than 100 million people (and you're clever, too). We get it. But, really, what's the point in taking a potshot at unhip people whose taste in music is unabashedly commercial? Getting into cooler-than-thou stuff isn't particularly cool. The typical GloNo reader doesn't like Bon Jovi, and the typical Bon Jovi fan doesn't read GloNo. Let it go, homeslice. I'd suggest filing this one under 'Don't be an asshole' and moving on.
